Top 10 walks and hikes to do in the summer
Walking and hiking are definitely some of our favorite activities to do in the summer. We love immersing ourselves in the shade of the woods, crossing pastures among the cows, stopping to cool off by streams, and enjoying the long days to experience the Dolomites.
Here we have gathered our Top 10 walks and hikes to do in the summer, but also in other seasons!
Enchanted Walk in Val Fiscalina
The starting point is the parking lot in front of the Hotel Dolomitenhof in Sesto, from where we set off along trail 102. After the initial paved stretch, the trail continues on an easy white road with a very slight incline, crossing one of the most beautiful valleys in the world, Val Fiscalina. Continuing along the trail for about 45 minutes, you reach the Talschlusshutte Hut where you can take a break before heading back to the starting point.

Tour of Lake Dobbiaco
The start is from the parking lot of Lake Dobbiaco towards the refreshment points and then follow the nature trail that circles the lake. Comprising 11 stages, which provide information on the flora, fauna, and geomorphology of this beautiful lake, it is a very easy walk that we recommend doing in any season.

The beauty of the Three Peaks in summer
The start is from the Auronzo Hut to follow trail 101 towards Rifugio Lavaredo. From here, it continues with a slight ascent to the Forcella di Lavaredo, from where there is a breathtaking view. From here, you can choose to reach the Locatelli Hut on a slightly ascending and moderately challenging trail, or follow trail 105 to the intersection with trail 102. Continue on trail 105 towards Lange Alpe hut and circle around the Three Peaks to reach the Auronzo Hut again.

The meadows of Croda Rossa
The start is from the cable car station that leaves from Modo di Sesto to take the circular path along trail 19. An easy circular route for everyone that crosses large meadows with crazy views and then delves among larches and firs.

From Rifugio Baranci to the Baths of San Candido
Perfect for a day of uncertain weather starting from our boutique hotel, the departure is from the Baranci Hut, which we can reach on foot following the wide forest road or across the pastures, or with the chairlift. From there, follow the signs in the forest for the Baths of San Candido, where just before arriving, we encounter the delightful Church of San Salvatore at the Baths. Arriving at the ancient Baths of San Candido, very popular at the beginning of the 20th century, it is possible to find refreshment for feet and legs by immersing in the ancient outdoor thermal springs.

To Malga Klammbach for a crazy view of the Sesto Dolomites
The start is from the station of Orti del Toro going up with the Tre Cime cable car from Moso to take trail 13 direction Malga Klammbach. It’s about a 30-minute walk. For those who want, it is also possible to easily reach the Malga from the center of Moso, always following trail 13 (and then 133 with the name of the malga) with an elevation gain of about 600 meters for a medium-easy difficulty level.

To Gallo Cedrone Hut
The start is the cable car station at Monte Elmo from Sesto to reach the panoramic Gallo Cedrone Hut after about 40 minutes. You can easily walk along the trail in the woods and then enjoy the magnificent view offered by the refuge.

Tour of Lake Braies
One of the most desired places in the Dolomites. The start is from the Hotel Pragser Wildsee to follow trail 19 which goes all around the lake in a series of easy ups and downs. The view from every corner of Lake Braies deserves every hour of the day and in every season.

To Malga Oberstalleram
For this hike, we cross into Austria in the small and enchanted Villgraten valley. The start is from the parking lot of Unterstalleralm, adjacent to the homonymous malga to take trail 326 to Malga Oberstaller. After about 1.5 km, we find ourselves in front of the spectacle of the 18 wooden huts of Oberstaller, which have become a monument to be protected. At the center of this small village of huts is the picturesque Guardian Angel Chapel.

Among the cows of Prato Piazza
The start is from the parking lot of Ponticello to follow trail 37 towards Vallandro Hut. You can travel the wide white road or cross the higher pastures. In any case, this easy walk offers incredible views of the Dolomites, in particular of the Three Peaks, Croda Rossa, Tofana, and Monte Cristallo.
